Debating on studding my AS in the future?

First thing is first- you have no idea if you have a breed quality dog. There are pets in every litter- the only way to determine if you should use him as a stud is to get his titles and his OFA certs done. Don't get ahead of yourself. Once you have that in place I have two pieces of advice. Never allow someone you don't completely trust to use him as a stud and always get everything in writing. I have not noticed a change in my dog's behavior after mating, although I have heard from other people that their stud marked more, etc after mating. I never have taken a pick- I always ask for cash or have them sell the puppy for me and give me the money. Not that I haven't liked the pups, but I haven't had the space because I keep back one out of my own females usually.
