Architecture/history on or near Kefalonia?

I'm staying on the Greek island of Kefalonia for a holiday in a couple of days time, and I was wondering whether there is anything in the way of architecture (eg temple ruins) to visit whilst there. If not, is there anything like that on nearby islands, or on the closest part of mainland Greece?
